ListenLibriVox provides free audiobooks from the public domain. There are several options for listening. The first step is to get the mp3 or ogg files into your own computer:

Librivox is a superb project providing free public-domain audiobooks. You can listen online, download the books to listen on an mp3 player, or directly through iTunes for iPod, iPad or iPhone users.
You can also get involved in the project as a volunteer reader. Remember Rob Rattray telling you to ‘get a life’ over summer? This could be one way of doing it. In fact immersing yourself in literature allows you to get lots of different lives.
