I had a question about the ‘Hippopotamus & Giraffe’ dictionary entries question. My answer was:

That ‘hippopotamus’ paper is the one I used to introduce the topic: we spent about three or four lessons on it. I showed you how to access the OED using your library card number (http://dictionary.oed.com/cgi/lclogin) and we looked at the structure of OED entries. I remember showing you the online guide to OED entries:
The ‘AskOxford’ site is well worth while browsing. They have some good information on the development of dictionaries, for example, that would be ideal for a question like that:
